Hi, That's a good question and I'm not sure of the answer. At the time, I had thought it was just the "in thing" for super heros to have, but who knows? Some kids did take more of a leadership role, but more in the "art department" than in the brainstorming and idea generating. I think the initial structure and talking about what makes up a story helped to get them all up to speed as to what was needed during the brainstorming session. Marybeth
