Ms. Susan M. Cochrane, Hello, I am a graduate student at West Virginia University. I am studying to become a speech-language pathologist and am due to graduate in 2006 with my Master’s. I do not have a strong educational background in stuttering and chose to read your article to gain more knowledge regarding treatment. Thanks! It was very interesting. If you don’t’ mind, I have a couple of questions for you. After reading your article, I was just wondering how well the client’s generalized what they learned in the program. It is my understanding that the families were highly involved in this process, making generalization more likely. However, I am just curious to know if they found it easier to use what they learned in an intense program in other environments. Also, you stated in your report that a follow-up analysis will be made on all components of stuttering in one year, I was just wondering what your prediction of the results would be. Do you think the clients will continue to improve their fluency and successfully use what they’ve learned in this intense program to improve their speech? Thank you for your time, Julie Compton
