Judy, ------- What a wonderful conference - as always! I'm sure you don't have a clue on how many lives you are changing with these conferences. It is beyond imagination. Retiring? Ha! As Mike Hughes says, "Fuhgeddaboutit!" The legacy of what you've done with these conferences - AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO - and the Stuttering Home Page in general, will outlive all of us. ------- Two points I would like to address as follow-ups: ------- 1. You said in your latest email to us, "We want [student SLPs] to get excited about fluency disorders, and for the past three weeks they've learned what an important part of the field this is, how consumers and professionals interact to help each other learn, and what a welcoming and supportive bunch of people we all are. Who wouldn't want to continue those kinds of relationships!!" YES! ABSOLUTELY! We - you and I and whoever we can recruit to help us - need to address an opportunity to create a system whereby we can extend these relationships throughout the year. Something like a Yahoo group or listserv or a forum on the SHP dedicated to bringing students, professional SLPs and people who stutter together. Maybe this is the future of Stutt-L...? What do you think? How can we make this happen? ------- 2. Next year we really gotta solve the "run-on paragraph" problem in the Questions/Comments section. No Judy, Bill Gates is NOT out to get you renegade Mac users! Ha, ha, ha! It's some techie quirk that we just need find and solve. I know, it isn't obvious, but we can do it. I just don't want to have to go through another year of adding dashes to delineate separate paragraphs. ------- Now go get some well deserved rest for a few weeks. Talk with you via email later. GREAT JOB on this conference Judy!!!!!
