Gene....really enjoyed listening to the dialouge between Van Riper and Sheehan. Even more so, I appreciated your article recalling the "great ones".... I am forever greatful to you for talking WITH me and sharing about stuttering. (I will never ever forget the first time I heard you speak, my reaction to what you were talking about, and your forgiveness re: my expressive skills. To me, Gene, You are one of the "great ones". (Any one who says differently I'd have to have a most personal conversation with...:) ! ) You guys never got into lawsuits and personal attacks to resolve issues regarding stuttering. You all focused on what was best for the person who stuttered...even if there was disagreement. It does appear as if that has gone the way of the dinosaur. You all never let the bull**** enter into your professional differences. I have gleaned things from you that have made me a better professional...and a better person. Those of us who work with PWS -- as well as PWS -- owe you for your tremendous insight and counsel. I, for one, know and recognize this truth. Stay well Gene. Look forward to when we next meet.
