Being a student SLP clinician (still in graduate school), it was helpful to read about what you would have liked to have heard as a child growing up with dysfluency. In my stuttering class, we have explored some different ways to get a child to express their feelings and attitudes about their speech. Although it might be a difficult task to get some children to open up, it seems that once they do express their feelings, the clinician can better treat them. Thanks for sharing your story.
