Amber- You are going to make one hell of a good SLP!!! You are thinking very clearly for a Junior taking her first course in Fluency Disorders. I do not look at "Therapuetic Listening" as being an "Indirect" treatment approach. It involves much more work, time, effort, and knowledge on the professionals part. You work DIRECTLY with parents and any other identified significant others. And man, let me tell you, it is work. But is is worth everything when the ultimate stuttering behavior is nullified as a potential outcome. Stay with it Amber. My website will give you some more info and I'd be happy to share anything I have. My site is www.thefreedomtospeak.com Feel free to contact me if you'd like.
