Thanks for your comments. Actually in the York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program we run several parent programs which we find to be a very effective first step in therapy, and which offer parents a lot of peer support as well. Because of the range of communication disorders, each program is tailored specifically to the needs of the children. (We run programs for language delays, autism spectrum disorders, articulation and motor speech disorders). Parents really seem to benefit from these programs and we receive very positive feedback.
