Hi Debbie Thanks for reading this article!! I do use bits out of various video tapes (but only as illustrations for points that we make) and the SFA tape is good for this. I absolutely give the booklet for health care providers to doctors as well – they respond favourably and send us kids quicker as a result. Behavioural principles around the power of contingent reinforcement schedules are the motivation for my argument. What I meant was that if you slow down your own speech or give the child special attention in response to their stuttered utterances, you are likely to strengthen these (I think you could find information in older texts like Luper and Mulder etc.) We can always have a conversation about this – please call me.
