Hi, Dori. An interesting read. It must be so frustrating to be in your position, and I can understand your anger. I know I had speech therapy when I was a child because my mother and sister told me I did - but I have no memory of it at all. Knowing me, I've blocked the memories out! Whatever went on with the therapist, it didn't work. The therapy must have been when I was five or six, and my worst stuttering experiences all happened later than that. As you'll have gathered from reading 'Tongue Tied' I found my own ways of coping and managed to appear fluent - but stuttering has remained an issue for me my entire life. I've never been comfortable with it. The key for me would have been the discovery of some way to stop it *mattering* so much. I think I've finally found such a key - but I wish someone had been able to locate it and give it to me when I was a child rather than a man of 50. I wish you and your son well, and hope he finds his key early in life. (John)
