Thanks Dori! Your paper was like looking into a slice of my mother's past..and her frustration with so many conflicting opinions! It almost seemed hit and miss...lucky for me, my family and I scored a "hit" when my third therapist was a believer in therapy focusing on avoidance and substitution. I know it is sometimes a controversial approach, but it took me from nearly mute to nearly fluent in 6 months! It doesnt work for everyone, but it certainly did for me. Best of luck to you and your son! It's our job to help educate the educators and provide therapy to the therapists..after all, we don't study it, we live it!
