Hi Ashley, thanks for listening and for your positive feedback. No, we have not found a therapy to help Eli become more fluent. At this point I feel that he would need to work very very hard to incorporate any fluency techniques into his speech, and quite frankly, he's not that motivated. I feel that to force him would just turn him off to the undertaking, and maybe close the door to future therapy. So we're working on his accepting his stutter and not hesitating to speak up, even with strangers and in front of groups. And that is often part of therapy -- but we never got to that point in actual therapy sessions. This conference has been a great opportunity for he and I to have wonderful conversations about how he feels about his stutter, and I'm so grateful! His friends are so accepting of him (we homeschool, so we avoid the schoolyard bullying scene) and he is beginning to think that stuttering is pretty cool! My efforts may be backfiring! :-) So that's where we're at. Best of luck to you, and again, thanks for listening!!
