Thank you for the feedback. Quite frankly, I'm a bit surprised and saddend at what a rarity I seem to be (at least relative to my son's stuttering -- ha ha) based on feedback I've recieved through this conference. My son just started participating in a kids' support group, and the parents were put a room, I suppose to once again read People magazine? So I'll probably be attempting to faciltate some dissusion -- tonight is our second meeting. My experience continues to be that even therapists don't see the parents as that important to the picture -- but I think this is a prevalent attitude. Lip service is paid to the idea of parent involvement in all aspects of kids' lives -- but I think when it comes right down to it, it just complicates things for the experts so at best they involve parents in more superficial ways. ok, I'll get off my soap box now.
