What a true statement! I think that many children are taught, in a round about way, to be ashamed of their stuttering. I think that as adults this message of shame needs to be buried. As a future teacher, it is my hope to teach children that it is okay for them to be exactly who they are. Children do not need to be burdened with the stress of conforming to someone others want them to be; they need to be made to feel free to be themselves. Do be made to feel ashamed of who you are is not right! Your story was very touching and very true! Thank you for sharing!
