Mr.Jezer, I am a masters-degree student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and I am currently enrolled in a fluency class. I have a question for you. My son Tyler is two years and three months old. I noticed that he began to stutter about one month ago. His stuttering consists mostly of part-word repetitions and phrase repetitions. It occurs mostly at the beginning of an utterance. I initially thought he was just thinking about what he wanted to say but I now know this is not the case. Other than this, he is an above average kid as far as language and cognitive ablility. His onset seemed to occur around the time I began to toilet train him. Could this be the cause? Because of the stress of toilet training? Could this be a traumatic event for him? Could this temporary? What do you suggest I do at this point? Thanks Falin Key A concerned parent
