In China there are also many famous people who stutter. One of them was Mr. Hu Yaoban, general secretary of Chinese Communist Party before 1987, the No. 2 leader of China (after Mr. Deng Xiaoping). Born in 1915, he was an eloquent speaker as a student but accquired stuttering after the Long March of Chinese Red Army in 1936. He remembered that he learned stuttering from others. However, his stuttering was quite slight, and with just a swing of arm would help him conquer it. He died in 1990. One of his son, as said, stuttered mildly in his school age. Like many Chinese people, he also thought stuttering is just a psychological problem and is not inheritable.
