This sounds like a terrific program. Instead of focusing on correcting speech, you are focusing on the entire person and addressing those parts of the Stuttering Hexagon that cause people to hold back and block. You're helping to build self-confidence and self-esteem. And you're doing it by creating a strong, mutually supportive community where individuals are encouraged to take chances. In this safe environment, individuals are willing to experiment and step out of their comfort zone and try new things. This, in turn, allows them to build a clear and well-defineed self-image that reflects who they REALLY are. Freer, more fluent speech will emerge as a BY-PRODUCT of doing all this. This is the approach that I followed in my recovery. And it truly worked. Congratulations. It sounds like you're doing an excellent job.
