I really enjoyed reading your article. In my country, Japan, we've been facing a similar situation;it's still difficult for the individuals who stutter to find the right place for a help since the concept of stuttering has not yet been established among people. I'm sure some of Japanese parents also blame their children if they stutter instead of finding a help or encouraging them. I think Success Breakthrough Therapy is the great self-help group which affects not only the individuals who stutter but also the surroundings. Through this article, I've learned that a number of stutteres do need self-treatment, not one as a patient. I am wondering if you think that Chinese character, shyness and reservedness, which is also a typical Japanese charater, could have a impact on the stutteres' emotions and attitudes negatively. I've just started studying CSD in U.S. a month ago, so I might be wrong, but it seemes that Asian people would need more self-support to manage their feelings about stuttering than people in Western society would. I've just read about Japanese Stuttering Project(self-support group)through this conference a few days ago, and I've also noticed that many stutteres have recovered and managed their stuttering in mental ways through the group. Lastly, thank you for sharing the article and giving me a great oppotunity to think of stuttering in different societies.
