Actually, it's the other way around. I said in the article that research to date (which is very limited) suggests that "S + DP" children do not seem to stutter any more severely than children who only stutter, and their phonological disorders do not seem to be markedly different from children who present with only a phonological disorder. To my knowledge, these issues have not been examined with S+LI kids. It would seem plausible that the presence of a language problem could exacerbate a child's stuttering..but this remains to be determined.
