How young: Robert is a 5th grader. It is possible that a mature child a grade or two younger may be able to grasp the CFO concept. I do have great success with mapping in younger children. I will draw a circle in the middle of a page with "staying smooth" in the circle. THen we will have branches off the circle with key concepts to integrate (i.e., rate, technique names, etc,). The children can present this to parents and siblings. This empowerment has been VERY successful. My kids can verbally describe key concepts clearly and demonstrate them. Van Riper used to give assignments and then ask clients why they thought he was suggesting the exercise. Again, so they are part of the outcome. Getting the kids to understand why they are doing things and how it helps. Cheers, Tim
