Respected Professors , I am a Dentist, who recently graduated.i have problem with stamering/shuttering..in my school days, people of my fellow would always tease me& also in Classes ,teachers would deliberately ask me to read the lessons, until the whole class laughed wholeheartedly.i suffered various humiliations.My late ,father had stammering too..none of other family members have,anyway.i think i develped it, in my 6th std. When i went to college of dentistry,there to i had problems especially in my Uviversity ORALS, where i really cdnt even ,open a word at all..MAny times, the internal as well as the External examiner, would laugh at me& says that i delibrately made this, to escape from their Questions..?? i have been failed in the Practicals,becoz of this 2 times,eventhough i got 70% in the theory paper.. Finally ,after all those humilations, i came out & now is practising in a small hospital here..TOday, i was ready for another shock..i went for an interview toa top notch university hospital here..they intially conducted a test & iwas selected ,so the next step 2, interview.. somehow, again i coudnt answer & i was back again to my college days.. the board said that ,thgh my marks were really good in the test & the patients wont be benifitted as i wont be able to open my mouth in memrgencyas well as other situations..finally he added u would be a big liablity to everyone ,including the hospital & also to my self.. Sir, i dont what i shld do now..shld i stop prac t as a Dentist now..Shld i run away from the scoiety..?? i ahve never been to a speechtherapist....anyway, i am just crying when i am typing this...... i dont know hat to do next,, i think i will quit my job & go somewhere...
