Katie, The most important thing, I believe, is to move therapy out of the clinic room. Go with your client around various locations at school or even outside of school, practicing using the child's favored speech tools. Help the child come up with ways that they want to practice using their tools at home, and help them make these in the form of a do-able contract, that both of you can monitor. Being there for some of those outside situation can be a big help to your client in trying new behaviors in typical situations throughout their daily routine. Best regards, Lynne
