I am a graduate student and have heard a little about both schools of thought in treating stuttering. I have also come to learn that those who support FSI and those who support MSI feel very strongly about how right they are and how wrong the other is. I think that as you mentioned, both have weaknesses when they are implemented alone, but by utilizing the strengths of both, the person who stutters stands a much better chance of feeling in control. I enjoyed it.
