Darrell, we are on the same page. I found it interesting that you stressed NOT A BELIEF. That got me interested in what you meant, specifically. I believe what you meant by 'belief structures' are similar to how a linguistic structure called a 'belief' can lead to anticipatory anxiety and increase the likely hood of a block. For example, a 17 year-old told me yesterday that she gets embarrassed when she stutters in class. I probed and noted her to say "the kids think I am weird and abnormal when I stutter." This cognitive distortion, often called mind-reading, is a belief. This belief creates anxiety and nearly guarantees blocking in public speaking and reading aloud. Is this what you refer to as a belief structure? Cheers, Tim
