As a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology, it was interesting to learn about the importance of combining pronciples of stuttering modification as well as fluency shaping approaches. I agree that both approaches are necessary ingredients for successful therapy. I feel this article also underscores the importance of counseling when using any kind of stuttering treatment, because the fear, axiety and negative feelings that coincide with dysfluency must be addressed.
