After re-reading your post, I have to add this....I never said I would do nothing.....I will say a good start would be to engage in listening to the child's message rather than how he says it. Listening is a learned behavior, and damn hard to learn and stick to. I do believe in doing effective things to not risk silence....Real "Listening" will never (oops, there's that "never" again) lead to the ultimate stuttering behavior......I do know FT/FS/ and SM have in the majority of those of us who stutter. I mean stutter...not ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba ,ba.... Anyways, that's my two cents....Disagreement may lead to deeper understandings.....
