I am a graduate student in speech language pathology and I enjoyed your article. I was amazed to read that you have been covering up your stuttering for nearly 50 years. I've heard of stutterers who cover it up so well that not even those closest to them know. Was this your case before "coming out?" If so, how were you able to keep it up for so many years? Either way, how has your life changed since "coming out?"
