Hi Kelly! Thanks for the note! I do work with several children. I wish there was oine piece of advice that had some kind of magic impact! Every child, evey parent, every educator is on a journey when they have someone in their life that stutters. That journey to understanding takes each person a different length of time. FOr the child that stutters? I try to help them understand that it's OK to be different! Some children need glasses...others need shoes or braces... some of us stutter! I try to focus on their approach, their attitude, and perspective. It isnt easy...but its so much easier when they start the journey with a positive, "can do" attitude! I tell these children to keep a song in their heart, appreciate others differences, and react with a smile rather than a frown...and a laugh rather than a tear! The change in self-comfort and self confidence can be amazing! SOme people think this may be a pollyanna approach, but in fact, I think it iks a very realist perspective! I have discovered that attitude and self-perspective is everything...and those are two things that everyone can change! Have a stellar day! Louis
