Shawna! THANKS so much for your feedback! Your comments run so true in every facet! That theme is very much a cornerstone of diversity classes that I teach. People often type people by some attribute at first meeting... "Tom - the guy in the wheel chair"... "Bill... the black guy"... "Lou...the guy that stutters"... but after a while, once we get to know these people and understand who they really are... we cease to type them by their appearance or ethnicity or disability. Its all part of being on the journey, and having comfort with people that arent "like" us!
