Stuttering is definitely like a roller coaster! One day I could be the most fluent, the next day every word is fair game. I stutter the most with my parents! Is it because I 'm so laid back? They don't make me nervous. Sometimes I don't stutter with strangers, when I'm "on the spot". There is NO CORRELATION between what causes my stuttering and how much it affects my stuttering. Everytime I stuttered I would evaluate EVERYTHING about that instance: Stress level, who I was talking to, what I had for breakfast, what the weather was. Stuttering, to me is like the ultimate baseball pitcher: You're thinking fastball, he throws a curve. Just when you think you've figured out his pitches, he comes with a new pitch. As stutterers, we have to be ready for anything, and take it all in stride.
