Hi Faith, What a beautiful name you have. I am glad that you found my story to be encouraging. Truly I believe that together, we are stronger. What can't we accomplish together when we set our minds to it? Families do face serious challenges and those are the times when we realize the value of working together and the meaning of love. About the particular child, there is so much more I would want to know. I hope the family has a support system of family and friends and a compassionate and competent SLP and physician. Do they have someone with whom to share the burden to help them find the way? Alone we can feel lost. Everyone needs a trail guide sometimes. About myself, indeed stuttering has affected every aspect of my life. Yet, many stories, even those with unhappy beginnings, can have very happy endings. Although my story continues to unfold, the life I am living now is filled with joy and blessing. I could never have imagined this life if it weren't for my few special friends as a child. About you, you have selected the most rewarding career imaginable. I have had the pleasure of being an SLP for 27 years (Yikes! It's kind of odd when I feel 20 years in my head.). I hope you find the joy and reward in your career as I am finding in mine. Wishing you all good things. David
