Dear Ann, Thanks for posting your questions. I have contacted Lee Caggiano, who is one of the authors of this paper, to ask if FRIENDS has sponsored any workshops in the state of Minnesota. I hope you will see a response from her here soon. You might also contact the National Stuttering Association (website URL: http://www.westutter.org/ and ask if they have sponsored any youth days in Minnesota. They, too, host these sorts of support events across the country. I really like your idea of a newsletter for children and their families. FRIENDS actually publishes a newsletter several times a year that is intended for kids and their families. You can obtain a subscription for yourself or for families. The web address for FRIENDS is: http://www.friendswhostutter.org/ While this is a great resource at the national level, I think your idea of having kids work on articles to include in a local newsletter would be a great way to empower children, to learn that they can contribute information to help others. You can also have your clients write articles and submit them to the FRIENDS newsletter. Thanks for your great comments. Regards, Lynne
