Ashley, Stories help release feelings of isolation and replace them with a sense of belonging to the greater whole. They help the reader identify, label, and work constructively with feelings. They provide information to enhance personal problem-solving skills. And they can help develop compassion for ourselves and others. A story well-suited to therapy does all this. That is why it is therapeutic. Good luck to you, and thank you for sharing your thoughts about bibliotherapy. Ellen-Marie Silverman
