Cindy, You are doing some wonderful thinking of your own! The stories we begin to tell ourselves by three years of age have great power over our waking lives moment by moment. They can cause us to achieve all of what we are capable and, conversely, create parched, famished, unfullfilling lives. Just yesterday, I read an interesting quote from Jesus of Nazareth included in the Nag Hammadi manuscripts (ancient texts discovered in 1945 in Egypt that contain teacgubgs of Jesus that differ radically from the canonical gospels. They have been analyzed and written about for the public by Elaine Pagels). In them, Jesus reportedly said, "If you bring forth what is within you, that which you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is is withing you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you." The stories we tell ourselves can help save or destroy us! You definitely should pursue what you labeled "autobibliotherapy." I'm not sure, but I think what you refer to as "autobibliotherapy" may be quite similar, possibly identical, to journaling. So you might want to look into the Ira Progoff method I refered to in the paper. I found it to be a powerful, direct method of self-transformation by contacting our subconscious sense of personal reality to alter it as needed. Also, you may want to join a local writer's group to write an autobiography. A good group can help enhance insight into your own personal story. And, if you are interested in Kabbala, you might find the Gafni worshop on Soul Prints referred to in the paper very helpful. Once you have experience with these types of tools for identifying personal life scripts (The Transactional Analysis books especially "Scripts People Live," also are helpful), you may want to experiment using these techniques with individual clients or client groups. If you do, I'd be interested in hearing from you about your experience doing so. Please feel free to contact me through my company website email address, www.thespeechsource.com. Your thinking is innovative and exciting. All best wishes implementing it. Sincerely, Ellen-Marie Silverman
