I enjoyed your explanation of all the individuals who influence people who stutter. It is a bit intriguing how there is an increase in training and services worldwide, while services in the US are decreasing because of training and ASHA requirements. As a second-year graduate student, I know I presently do not have the knowledge to provide quality services to an individual who stutters. However, I would rely on guidance by an SLP that I know who has a lot of experience in this area. Furthermore, I do not have a professor who could provide such insight at the university I attend. I agree that more training is needed for clinicians.
