Hi Serena, Yes, solid clinical training is a critical component in the infrastructure if stutterers are to be be treated effectively. I'm glad you have a mentor/colleague who can help you along as you begin to treat stutterers in your own caseload. I would also encourage you to take advantage of all the continuing education resources available to fill the perceived weakness in your training in this area. (We all have weaker and stronger areas.) And if you find that treating stuttering is something you enjoy and find fulfilling, consider finding a mentor and beginning the process of becoming a Board Recognized Specialist in Fluency Disorders.
