Ira, A nice dream -thanks for the referral to the Californian web site which indicates a good service is being provided by SLP's. However in my view more is needed than sessions with a SLP. Many pws have not gained form countless SLP sessions inspite of the best intentions of everyone involved. My dream is to see teachers and SLP's liaise more closely. In this way therapy can be transferred into a group setting (ie. the classroom) so the cws is better able confront and conquer any negative self image as a speaker. As I'm sure you are aware stuttering is more than just what the listener hears. The pain/ discomfort of stuttering is about what the speaker feels before, during and after a stuttering moment. Teachers could help enormously by working with SLP's to create "winning" speaking environments in the classroom. Furthermore if teachers are more aware of the problem they are better able to recognise covert stuttering and take appropriate action. Obviously I'm hoping SLP's will get behind this concept and that the CD Rom will have wide circulation through schools. Mark
