I think that this story demonstrates the lack of resources for people with disfluencies as well as how desperate parens become to help their child overcome their disfluency. I think that it is very unfortunate that this mother felt that listening to a psychic was her only chance to curing her child. Although this appears to be a more extreme case, it does show that more help must be offered to those individuals with fluency disorders.
