I found your story very interesting. During one of our graduate level fluency classes, we discussed the theory that the only way to overcome stuttering is to "forget" that one stutters. Some people agreed with this theory, while others did not. What are your thoughts? Do you believe that during these traumatic events, your body/mind was so focused on what was wrong that you were able to "forget" that you stutter? Also, you stated that you did not receive therapy as a child. Did you ever consider receiving therapy as an adult? Take care.
