I realize there are differences here, but thought I'd offer up an experience I had. A young man presented as a severe stutterer AFTER going cold turkey from multiple drugs (he was a multiple drug abuser). I don't know how he's doing since he moved but it sure was interesting and I did not find a way after only a few sessions to really help him!
