Hi Esther, A positive self-image is important to everyone, not just persons who stutter. If we can't 'see' ourselves doing certain things/undertaking certain roles, then we will never succeed at those tasks. It is also vital that we view ourselves in a positive light. Low self-esteem can be so damaging. We must learn to like/love ourselves irrespective of any blemishes or imperfections. If we have a low opinion of ourselves, then surely we cannot expect anything else from others? The techniques/tools that I acquired May 4-7, 2000 (it was so significant that I can even remember the exact dates), helped me to challenge my self-limiting beliefs; face my fears; and expand my comfort zones. Once I had achieved this, I discarded my techniques/tools, as they had become surplus to requirements. Today, I no longer need them, although I am able to implement them when teaching/monitoring others. Thank you for your interest. Kindest regards Alan
