Hi Rob I really enjoyed reading your paper. Thank you for sharing your fears and explaining how each day was a challenge. I don't think the emotional impact of stuttering can be captured in a text book. Do you think your therapy goals as a child should have been geared towards learning to cope and better communicate; rather than achieve perfect fluency? Of course learning to have regular speech patterns is desirable but do you think it was a realistic for you? Do you think the empty promise of, "You'll grow out of it," had a major psychological impact on you. Your paper reinforced the importance of empathy in clinical settings. Thank You
