Thank you for taking the time to write. I think it's great that as a future SLP, you're taking part in this forum and learning more about stuttering. I'm going to go with the form answer that it's a neurological glitch. However, I firmly believe that stuttering is everything you do when you're trying not to stutter and the severity depends on how you react to it. <<<I noticed that you said that you have become a little more fluent since you have finally accepted your stuttering. Why do you think this is the case?>>> I think it's because once you stop trying to fight stuttering and avoid stuttering, your focus changes. It goes from "trying NOT to stutter" to "trying TO communicate a thought." The two are very different.
