First of all, thank you for all of the useful material that you posted. I just wanted to say that I am so pleased to see the wealth of material that you have about informing and training communication partners (teachers, parents, siblings, etc) of people who stutter. Often times, therapists can focus so much on the stuttering itself and can neglect the importance of the envrionment and the role that communication partners can play in successful fluency treatment. Providing information and support to teachers, parents, siblings, caregivers, co-workers, etc. can help them to support the client/child by offering fluency enhancing techniques, helping them to understand the focus of therapy (what the client is working on/targets/etc), and helping them to understand feelings and attitudes realted to stuttering. I was lucky enough to lead a parent support group for parents of preschool children who stutter over the summer. The parent meeting was held at the same time that their preschool children were receiving therapy. It was a great place to provide information and training, as well as an open forum for the parents to get information and experiences from each other. Thank you again for so many great resources.
