Greetings Mr. Dewey! As a first year SLP graduate student enrolled in my first fluency course, I found your article to be very insightful and motivating. You have sparked my interest in the different origins/roots of stuttering vs. cluttering. The resources you've provided, including the Myers/ St. Louis and Daly texts, will be great help in my pursuit of a deeper understanding of cluttering. Also, your speech sample and the written samples regarding the grocery store trip helped me to understand some of the differences between stuttering and cluttering. In your article you mention that your current speech patterns are perceived by most as "normal," but you are still working toward your goal of "perfect fluency." What does perfect fluency mean to you? Does the perfection reside in others' perception of your speech and your ability to convey your intended message OR does the perfection lie in calming the "rage inside your head" that you mentioned? Thanks much for sharing your story. You have provided great insight to conference participants as well as a "call to action" to seek more information and discover effective treatment options. -Sarah
