My desire to jump up and down, clap my hands, and cheer you on is stifled by the fact that I am sitting in a public library. I have already disrupted the silence once; my cell phone, appropriately suited up with Marvin Gaye's "Let's get it on" as my ring tone, went off and set the whole floor against me - oops. So I will refrain from physically cheering you on and attempt to do it with words. Wow. Thank you. In my many experiences with people from different cultures, different backgrounds, SES, educational attainment, etc. I have found that across all categories, the people with whom I can best relate are those who show no inhibitions about revealing their true identity. I appreciate your willingness to share your story with professionals, families of people with a speech disorder,and students like myself. It is through personal experiences and reading those experiences of others, that I am able to learn and retain the most information. It takes courage and a very stable sense of self to expose yourself to a plethora of strangers, but I believe that all of us are grateful for the information you have provided us. I particularly enjoy that you identify being a clutterer as part of your personality. I understand that it may be difficult at times because you stated that even when you do not clutter, you feel as if you are, but I believe that we too often separate ourselves from our setbacks. Is a person suffering from depression relieved of that diagnosis when describing their personality? I don't think so, or at least they should not be. We are who we are; every little piece of baggage that we pick up along the way helps to develop our personality. Again, I appreciate your honesty and willingness to expose yourself. We are better off learning from someone who experiences cluttering first-hand. In particular, I am grateful for the different therapy techniques you have listed that work most efficiently and effectively. Thank you!
