Hi, Thanks for your work over the years. I have a couple of questions. First, is the male-to-female ratio in stuttering found in other disorders (ex. Tourette syndrome)? How does genetics explain this ratio? (particularly considering the generalization that 50% of stuttering cases are related to genetic factors and the other 50% due to unknown causes?) Also, if a female stutterer has a son, is the son more likely to stutter? Because the stuttering gene was expressed in the female mother(therefore the stuttering inheritance stronger). Is there any supporting empirical data? It would seem logical. Finally, how does genetic factors affect the severity of stuttering? How does the research consider the issue of stuttering severity?
