I do not have much of a backround in genetics, come to think of it I have little of what I learned in High Shool still left floating around. But, I do have stuttering clients whom do not have stuttering parents. I was wondering if your article is suggesting that stuttering is a trait that an individual acquires at birth, such as blue eyes instead of brown or green? I also was wondering, thought this question could be unrelated to your study, do CAT scans performed on a stuttering person indicates excitement of a specific area of the brain? How does a chromosome fit into the developed brain? Is it the blueprint? A soon to be structure?
