Hi Cassie, No one knows why more males stutter than females. In this respect, stuttering is like many disorders in which there is a great excess of males, such as attention deficit disorder. One popular idea is that males and females are both affected in roughly equal numbers, but that females recover from stuttering much more frequently than males.
