Hi Alan, Yes indeed it took me two full years (since 2003) to expand on the iceberg concept and develop that matrix based on the DENSITY of each person's iceberg. I was really amazed when the categories of stutterers jumped off the paper at me and validated the true existence of covert stutterers as a unique class of people who stutter. Did you do that extra credit problem at the end of the paper? I almost had you in mind when I added that at the last minute. <grin> And yes, the position of each person on the paper suggests a different balance of strategies, fluency work and psychological support, for each person. The fact that the force arrow is a DIAGONAL line means that both axes need to be addressed simultaneously. Addressing only one axis simply doesn't work. We've both tried that! Also a super-trivia note, the ship in the iceberg picture is NOT the Titanic. Can you tell me why not? Being smarter than the average bear, being from the UK, and being a former detective surely you can pick up at least two clues. Let me hear back from you...! Russ
