Wow, what a great paper, I enjoyed reading it immensely. I am an SLP student at Western Washington Univ. currently at mid-term in my first fluency course. Thank you so much for the clarity you've brought to what has been a pretty hazy subject of my studies. The straight forward clarity of your ideas are so sensical it makes me wonder, "why didn't I see it that way before?" Everything from assessment to treatment to me finally understanding covert stuttering, can start with these ideas. For me personally, I couldn't imagine starting any assessment/treatment without this insight. Well done, well done indeed. And the extra credit... love it! I don't know what you'd call that category of people, but how about RETTUTS? since they would be complete opposites. Wouldn't their matrix look the same except for being backwards and having different labels like: "Fearlessness" [No fear - Insane] and "Observable fluency" [Eloquent - Poetic]? And wouldn't their icebergs follow the same transition? Although it would be a different iceberg altogether because their initial one would have melted completely as their matrix point neared the origin of the matrix. Thanks again, I look forward to reading more of your writings.
